Councilmemt~ <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #92-02- <br /> <br />RESOLUTI~N~ APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY oF IgAMSEY AND ANOKA COUNTY FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING OF <br />1991 AND: 11992 LANDFILL ABATEMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY <br /> <br /> WHEI;[EA~, the State of Minnesota Leg;slature enacted the Select Committee on <br />Recycling and ~he ]~nvironment (SCORE) legislation which provides for collection of the sales tax <br />on solid waste flispOsal; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, counties are responsible for the distribution of said funds to municipalities; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has attained its recycling goal for 1991 and has qualified <br />for an additional $5~000 in funding; and <br /> WHEREAS, a joint powers agreement between Anoka County and the City of Ramsey is <br />required pri°r !o di~stribution of funds for municipal landfill abatement programs for the SCORE <br />tax money. <br /> <br />NOW THER~FQRE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSE~.~. ,~NOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That th~ Cily of Ramsey hereby approves the joint powers agreement between the City of <br /> RamseY and Anoka County regarding additional funding for the City of Ramsey in <br /> establi~ing~ landfill abatement programs pursuant to SCORE legislation and funding from <br /> Anoka i2ouf~ty regarding the same· <br /> <br />2) That th~ Ra~nsey City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Administrator to sign <br /> the joir~t p~wers agreement and any other necessary documents required on behalf of the <br /> City <br /> <br />The motion fbi the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following Were absent: <br />and the follow{ng abstained: <br /> <br />whereupon saki resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the I Ith day of Fe,bruary, 1992. <br /> <br /> <br />
