February I1, 1992 <br /> <br /> Purpose: <br /> <br />The intent o£ th~ P0[icy is to ensure appropriate use of City vehicles and rolling stock by municipal <br />employees an~ ~o en~;ure a clear understanding thereof. <br /> <br />A. Conferl~nee . schools, seminars and meetings: For purPoses of this policy it is intended <br /> tha~t ~in, opportunities during the regular work shift within a 40-mile distance of the <br /> work t~at! n is considered an acceptable work-related activity in as much as the vehicle <br /> will b~,~tii ied to the work site either during or shortly after the completion of the shift. <br /> <br />B. OUt-oi'+~wlr and overnight conferences and schools: For travel which has a duration of <br /> m°r~ {li~ 61 [e Work day in length, or for travel beyond the 40-mile radius noted above, the <br /> empl~7'~ is to utilize a non-fleet vehicle, the use for which will be compensated at the <br /> apprOg~d ~ S rate. Alternatively, upon prior approval of the City Administrator, the <br /> empl .~ ~ receive the use of a vehicle previously determined as an excess vehicle by the <br /> City ~o~ nci <br /> <br />C.
