The primary differences proposed for this year are: 1) Holding the Expo in the Ramsey Fire Station instead of the Ramsey Elementary School. This provides "one stop shopping" and more community interaction. 2) The use of tables as opposed to renting booths (approximately $680 difference from last year). 3) T-shirts and fly swatters will not be purchased for resale. The City does have buttons and fly swatters that can be given away (approximately $1,100 difference from last year). The following briefly outlines April 25, 1992 activities: I. Tree Sale What: Tree sale with information dissemination. Who: Local nursery people with current Minnesota nursery license. Where: South of the Fire Station at the Ramsey Municipal Center. Why: Provide residents with a variety of trees at a good value and encourage reforestation and enhance Ramsey's quality of life. When: April 25, 1992 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. II. Environmental Exposition What: Environmental Expo in conjunction with the tree sale. Who: Green businesses, agencies and Ramsey residents. Where: Fire Station, Ramsey Municipal Center. Why: For information exchange and for exploring community issues. When: April 25, 1992 - either 8:00 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Concurrent and in conjunction with the Environmental Expo will be: IIA. Round table discussions held in the Council Chambers at the Ramsey Municipal Center. a. Wells and septic systems. b. Ecology (exact topic to be determined, possibly a gardening theme). c. Do's and don'ts of recycling in the City of Ramsey. This forum will also provide information and special permits for the clean-up day activities. IIB. Free seedlings to each resident. a. Trees given out at the joint Park and Recreation Commission and citizen's tree committee table.
