Observations: <br /> <br />The Joint Powers Agreement for the Elk River Area Community Recreation <br />Coordinator presented by the school district states that once entered into, at <br />least one hundred eighty (180) days' written notice must be given for <br />termination. The 180 day requirement is consistent with the Joint Powers <br />Agreement Ramsey has entered into with the Anoka-Hennepin School District <br />#11. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is funding Anoka-Hennepin Community Education in the <br />amount of $24,613 or $2.28/capita for 1992. The projected 1993 cost for this <br />same service level is $29,956 or $2.77/capita. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Due to our City's continuing budgetary concerns for this and future years, it is <br />recommended the City not enter into an agreement for new or additional non- <br />essential City services at this time. <br /> <br />Budget Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to direct Staff to request Mr. Blesener's presence at the next meeting.. <br /> or <br />Motion to recommend to Council that the City of Ramsey participate in the <br />funding for a Recreation Coordinator in School District #728 with a <br />contribution of $3,500 for the fiscal year of 1992. <br /> or <br />Motion to recommend to Council that the City of Ramsey not participate in <br />District 728's request for funding the position of Recreation Coordinator. <br /> or <br />Based on discussion. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />BC: 04/28/92 <br /> <br /> <br />
