CASE #3 <br /> [ <br /> I~I~.'ItWAY #10 CORRIDOR STUDY, IMPLEMENTATION <br /> ~' P~;AN FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL <br /> i By: James Gromberg, Project Manager <br /> <br />BackgroundI <br />As the E¢onom~cliDevelopment Commxss~on discussed at ~ts January 8, 1992 meeting, the EDC <br />will be revievding[the Highway #10 Corridor Study by breaking it into sections, reviewiag each <br />section and ,m~if~g recommendations for changes before its presentation to the City Council to be <br />used as a ptan~;in~ document in the future. <br />The first section 6f the study that was recommended for review and changes was the Economic <br />Development t~ot~:_nt~al sectmn underneath the Implementation part of the document, specifically <br />pages 59 and d/0. ~or your information, I have attached copies of these two pages of the Highway <br />#10 Corridor.$tuOy in a double spaced format to allow you to insert your recommendations for <br />changes and/o~ suggestions for new goals that could be adopted by the City. <br />In some cases ith6[ City has initiated the completion of the proposed actions of the Highway #10 <br />Corridor Stud~. if this was in fact the case, as with the development of monument signs and <br />development df fi ~ancial incentives, I have indicated that after the individual goals and listed the <br />actual steps thtit a~ve been taken. I would like to remind the Commission that it should look at <br />some of the~e[~g, ~ls as long-term, as they may take a few years to develop and may not be <br />completed bYthe ~ity in the short-term. Some of the goals that we do list may be accomplished <br />effectively by ~he!;dreation and the use of a local arm of the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce, <br />which has geeh s0ggested in the past. This has also been listed as one of the goals for the EDC <br />during1992. I !I' <br />Commission !
