Hills Golf Course, an t 8 hole course in a country club-like setting. Are picnics and softball more
your style? Then visit Ramsey's Central Park with its lighted fields, tennis courts, hockey rinks
and complete picnic facilities.

Just as the Twin Cities have their own unique attractions, Ramsey has its own exclusive annual
event which draws thousands of people from around the region. Since 1979, 80 acres of open
fields, water and woodlands have been the home of Game Fair. What originated in Europe during
the Middle Ages is now a lasting American tradition where outdoor lovers come to share new
ideas, view new products and learn new skills. This is an outdoor fair for the entire family; 3.4
million square feet of shooting ranges, wildlife and conservation exhibits, archery, even a lake for
live fish and game demonstrations. It happens every year around Labor Day and it's only in
Ramsey. Community sports are also growing strong in Ramsey. Choose something for each
member of your family, youth to adults. A variety of teams are available. Ramsey Youth Athletic
Association offers training and a full season of games in baseball, softball, football, soccer,
volleyball, basketball and track. The Anoka Area Hockey Association operates its own hockey
teams for boys and girls ages 5 through 17. For adults, the Community Education Program offers
slow-pitch softball, touch football, basketball and broomball as well as co-ed volleyball leagues.
Plus, if horseback riding is your pastime, Ramsey has its own saddle club, a chance to meet others
who sham your interest in horses and riding skills. One fact you'll quickly discover while
enjoying life in Ramsey is that the residents are friendly and take great pride in their City. If you
like community involvement, Ramsey has a club or organization that's right for you. Plus, your
ideas and participation will be welcomed by all. Choose from several churches in various
denominations, each with their own projects and activities. The Ramsey Lions, a staple in the City
and well-known for their varied activities, from an annual picnic to donations of funds and labor
for park development; the Ramsey Jaycees, an up and coming group with a list of programs
designed to better Ramsey and help its citizenry, from recycling and annual Clean-Up Day to
housing repairs for the elderly and working with young people through the area teen center, our

4
