Case #5: Maintenance Room

Boardmember Sharp stated that the maintenance room was originally intended for the Fire
Departmenfs use, but due to the clutter in it now, the department is not able to use it.

Chief Griffin stated that the department hung peg board and put in metal shelves when they were
informed by Mr. Hoeke, former Fire Chief, that the room was for the department. He explained
that somewhere along the line, Mr. Bray, Building Maintenance Worker, took over the room and
locked it up for the purpose of keeping the Fire Fighters out of it. He inquired if there is a better
place for Mr. Bray to keep his supplies.

Finance Officer Helling reported that the room was originally intended for building maintenance.
She stated the room was cleared of maintenance supplies to accomodate the construction going on
in the fire barn. She added the reason for the lock is because there has been a significant amount of
supplies missing.

Chief Griffin reported some supplies are missing from the Fire Department also.

City Administrator Schroeder offered to help try resolve the "space problem".

Case #6:' Adopt a Fire Hydrant

Councilmember Peterson reported he saw a program on Cable TV regarding "Adopting a Fire
Hydrant".
