visions for the City of Ramsey as they desire it to exist in
the year 2025:

Preserving natural resources and green space to
include Trott Brook, river corridors, wetlands, and
expansion of the park system.

(2)

Maintaining the "rural" character north of Trott
Brook. (Later recognized by the participants that
this area is in a state of transition and will require
careful planning attention to define how future
development of this area will occur).

(3)

Addition'of education, public safety, and muni~cipal
facilities.

(4) Transportation network improvements to include:

· Highways -'major collectors
· Bridges - Mississippi and Rum Rivers
· Northstar Rail
· Trails

(5)

Diversity of housing - life cycle, executive, senior,
etc.

(6) Robust commercial and retail region.

(7) Proactive approach to determining our future.

'(8)

Projected average population in the year 2025'
44,100.

Points of diversity in opinions.

It is not uncommon in the visioning exercises that areas of
difference or diversity in opinions will emerge among the
visions presented. The participants identified one area as a
potentially significant point of diversity: degree and pace
of growth development to occur within the community,
especially north of Trott Brook.

Two strategies were identified for resolving this point of
diversity or differing opinions:

Study of infrastructure needs
