In ar~y way intended to prohibit signs placed on or affixed to vehicles and trailers, <br /> ~uc~h[as lettering on motor vehicles, where the sign is incidental to the primary use <br /> ~f th~ vehicle, trailer and/or any other type of mobile equipment. <br /> [ <br />Subd. 8 8ig~s on trees. Signs which are attached or otherwise affixed to trees or other <br /> yeg~ation:, are prohibited. <br />Subd. 9 $1.~,.~s painted on walls. Signs painted on an exterior wall, facia, parapet or a <br /> i~hi~ney of a building or on a fence are prohibited. <br /> <br />Subd, 10 ~ig~s which imitate traffic control devices. Signs which imitate, interfere <br /> ~i~h[ obstruct the view of, or can be confused with any authorized traffic control <br /> ~igt~ signal, or other device are prohibited. <br /> <br />9.12.05 TEMPORARY SIGNS <br /> <br />The following:ge;the only type of temporary signs permitted in any district unless other types are <br />specifically all [c~vecl[m the individual zoning districts. <br /> <br />Subd. 1 <br /> <br />Subd. 2 <br /> <br />Subd. 3 <br /> <br />Subd. 4 <br /> <br />Ba[nJaers, pennants, whirling devices and revolving searchlights or any <br />~,UC~!sign resembling the same, are prohibited from use within the city except when <br />CSetllas an integral part of the design of a building or when used in conjunction with <br />ragg openings (the initial commencement of business) or when allowed by the <br />oV~sions of this ordinance. In the case of grand openings, banners, pennants, <br />~hir~ling devices itn~l searchlights shall be allowed for the week (t~n (!0) <br />~a~m'.:m) of said grand opening-. All other cases are subject to the temporary sign <br />~e ~,r~it and fee requirements and shall only be issued for ten (10) day periods, four <br />!4) :!Jmes a year per business. <br />oliiical signs posted by a bona fide candidate for political office, or by a person <br />r ~oup promoting a political issue or a political candidate may be placed in any <br />{:lis~d, ct upon acquisition of a temporary sign permit at a fee established by city <br />~:oa~cil resolution. Political signs are limited to thirty-two (32) square feet in area <br />and~ ~uch signs shall be removed within seven (7) days following the election. A <br />~x ~g!_ fee per sign not removed within the seven (7) days following the election will <br />be ~tablished by the city council and will be used to defray the cost of removal. <br />qa,rhge Advertising Garage Signs are to (6) <br /> Sale <br /> and <br /> Directional <br /> Sale <br /> limited <br /> six <br />u~e feet and shall be of the free-standing type only. Garage sale ,signs shall be <br />~lac~.cl on private property only and shall have the property owner s permission. <br />Ali;garage sale signs shall be removed within twenty-four hours after the <br />!om~letion of the sale. <br />ConStruction signs identifying the parties involved in the construction to occur <br />br ~curring on the premises may be installed upon a construction site in any <br />lhist~ct, provided such sign does not exceed eighty (80) square feet in area. There <br />all not be more than one (1) temporary construction sign for each project or <br />~leE~lopment, except that where a project or development abuts two (2) or more <br />l!tregts, additional such signs, one (1) oriented to each abutting street, shall be <br />er~itted.
