Subd. 6 o['l~able Signs are permitted only in business and industrial type districts and are <br /> Isufij~ct to temporary permit and fee requirements. Total sign area may be up to fifteen percent (15%) of the <br />front b¢ild~g facade. At least fifty percent (50%) of the signage area must be placed on the <br />measured -wall with remaining signage area, if desired, distributed on any other wall or <br />wallS, [;jgrl[height shall not exceed the top of the parapet wall or, if no parapet wall, sign <br />height ~[ha[l[not exceed height of eaves. The gross surface area of a wall, canopy <br />or in:a~qu~e sign may be increased by ten percent if such wall sign: <br /> <br />1. ~eoa~ists only of individual, outhned alphabetic, numeric and/or <br /> ~y~bolic characters without background except that provided by the <br /> ~ulllding surface to which the sign is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />2. lllUm~nat~on, if any, is achieved through shielded illumination, <br /> ihiletlded silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any <br /> gh~ing where the light source is visible or exposed on the face or <br /> ~i~$ of the characters. <br />A wall, CJnopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wall of <br />any p~i'nJ~ipal building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches <br />from ~h~iiwall to which the sign is to be affixed.
