CASE #: '~ <br /> <br />AFSCME CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On February 28, 2004 staff provided the City Council with an update on the status of <br />AFSCME (public xvorks and city hall staff) and LELS (patrol) negotiations. Direction <br />was given to staff regarding salary and benefits. Staff has met with AFSCME union <br />representatives regarding Council direction and AFSCME members met and voted to <br />accept the City's most recent proposal (Feb. 27, 2004). Below is a summary of changes <br />that will be made to the contract pending City Council approval. <br /> <br />Staff is requesting City Council approval of the following provisions: <br /> <br />Wages: <br /> <br />2004-3% plus applicable step increases <br />2005-3% plus applicable step increases <br /> <br />Insurance: <br /> <br />Single: $313.25 <br />Family: $598 Jinx-Feb 2004 <br />Family: $563 Mar-Dec 2004 <br />2005: Reopener <br /> <br />Boot Allowance: <br /> <br />Public Works Maintenance employees <br />may submit an original store receipt to the City of Ramsey for a one time <br />reimbursement once every two years for the purchase of work boots for <br />the cost of the boots or $100, whichever is less. <br /> <br />Christmas: <br /> <br />Friday, Monday--2004 & 2005 <br /> <br />Duration: 2 years <br /> <br />Committee Recommendation: <br /> <br />Recommend that City Council approve the above listed changes to the City's labor <br />agreement with AFSCME Local # 2454.
