Commissioner Ostrum stated he does not want to make a motion that is specific to this <br />development. He suggested it be brought back with more generic language. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated she would not want to make a recommendation on something generic. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Commission was to have staffbring this item back with language that speaks to <br />park dedication but not this particular development. <br /> <br />No action necessary. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Potential Grant Opportunity with Congressman Oberstar. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton stated at the December 16, 2003 Public Works Committee meeting <br />Mayor Gamec explained that he had a meeting with Congressman Oberstar and he indicated that <br />there might be an opportunity for the City to receive some money for trails through a grant. Some <br />of the projects that he thought could benefit from the funds would be finishing the trail at River <br />Pines up to Elmcrest Park along Trunk Highway 47. Also, the trail on the east and west side of <br />County Road 5 from 153rd to the south and from Sunwood to the north. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton advised he would be proceeding with this. <br /> <br />Anoka County Parks and Recreation Committee Agenda. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Riverblood suggested the Commission change the next meeting <br />to the third Thursday in February because the detailed Town Center plan will not be ready until <br />then. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Commission was to change the February meeting the third Thursday, which <br />would be February 19, 2004 at 6 p.m. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Olds, seconded by Commissioner Shryock, to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />R,~pect fully submitted, <br /> <br />Robin Leslie <br />Recording Secretary <br />TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial Inc. <br /> <br /> onard Linton <br />civil Engineer n <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/January 8, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
