CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION Whereas, the City of Anoka maintains and operates a land fill within the corporate boundaries of the City of Ramsey, and Whereas, the City o[ Anoka and the former Township o[ Ramsey entered into a contract many years ago regarding the operation of said land fill, and Whereas, the City of Ramsey has recently become incorporated, and ~ Whereas, many questions over the years have arisen regarding the operation of said land fill, some of which are as follows: 1. What materials are authorized to be disposed of in the land fill .9 2. What, if any, plans have been made for the discontinuance of the land fill and the land use when it has been filled to capacity? 3. Have monitoring wells been installed ? If so, to what extent and to whom are the test results from such monitoring wells reported ? 4. What are the test results from the above-mentioned monitoring wells ? 5. If contamination of the surrounding residential water supply has been, or will be in the near future contaminated, where does the responsibility lie and where will funding be derived from for remedy of the situation? 6. If it is necessary to cause municipal sewer to be put into the area as a result of the land fill operation, where does the responsibility lie and where will the funding for such be derived from. Whereas, the City Council City of Ramsey has the above plus numerous other questions regarding the operating, maintenance and existen~'~ of the land fill, Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the City Of Ramsey requests an opportunity to discuss this matter with the City Commission City of Anoka or its designated representative and that such discussions and negotiations be had prior to the City of Anoka entering into new land fill operating contracts with any firm,person or corporati6no PASSED by the City Council, City o[ Ramsey, at a special meeting held on the 30th day of November, 1974.
