W. <br />ANOKA, MINNESOTA .55303 <br /> <br />427-141 0 <br /> <br />RESOLUT I ON <br /> <br /> ~¥tlEREAS, the Metropolitan Council and the Minnesota <br />Environmental Quality Council have proposed Critical Area desig= <br />nation of tile Mississipi River Corridor in the metropolitan area; <br />and <br /> <br /> %'IIEREAS, the proposed Critical Area includes a substantial <br />amount of valuable property in 'the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WItEREAS, the City Council of the City of Ramsey shares the <br />concern of other ~overnmental agencies that the natural resource <br />of the Mississippi River should be preserved in a manner which <br />balances the public interest appropriately against 'the interests of <br />private property owners; and <br /> <br /> .WHEREAS, the Minnesota Environmental Quality Council has <br />condLicted hearings and has invited input from affected local <br />governments, <br /> <br /> NOW TIIEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by -the City Council of the City <br />of Ramsey, that the attached position statement entitled "Comments <br />on the Proposed C~'i. tical Area l)esS, gnation of thc Mississipi)i River <br />Corridor in the City of Ramsey", dated June 17, 1975, is hereby <br />adoptcd as the official position of the City Council of the City <br />of Rr~sey; <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution and the position <br />statement be forwarded to the members of the Minnesota Environmental <br />Quality Council, the Governor of the State of Minnesota, and the <br />Metropolitan Council for inclusion as part of the public hearing <br />record and for information purposes to those o£ficials and agencieS. <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br /> <br />
