Page 3 <br />Resolution No. 12 <br /> <br />MEMBER'S TERM OF OFFICE: Members of the Commission shall be <br />appoin~?~y a majority vote of the Council for terms· of three <br />years, except that any person appointed to fill a vacancy occurring <br />prior to the expiration of the term for which his predecessor was <br />appointed shall be appointed only for the remainder of such term. <br />Upon expiration of his term of office, a member shall continue to <br />serve until his successor is appointed and shall have qualified. <br /> <br />QUALIFICATIONS FOR 'MEMB'ERSHIP: Members of the Commission shall <br />be residents of the City of Ramsey while serving on the Commission <br />and shall represent a broad range of interest in the park and <br />recreation function. <br /> <br />INITIAL APPOINTMENT: The Commission became effective on their <br />first meeting on October 23, 1975, with three members appointed <br />for a term through 1978, three members appointed for a term through <br />1977 and three members appointed for a term through 1976. <br /> <br />RESIGNATION-REMOVAL' FROM' 'OFFICE-'VA'CANCIES: Commissioners may <br />resign voluntary or may be removed from office by a majority <br />vote of the City Council. Three consecutive unexcused absences <br />from duly called Commission meetings shall constitute automatic <br />resignation from office. Vacancies in the Commission are to be <br />filled by Council appointment with a majority vote. <br /> <br />COMPENSATION: Commissioners shall serve without compensation. <br />The secretary shall receive $120.00 per year. <br /> <br />Subdivision 7. RULES AND PROCEDURES: The Commission shall <br />adopt such rules and procedures not inconsistent with these <br />provisions as may be necessary for the proper execution and <br />conduct of business. <br /> <br />Subdivision 8. MEETING: Regular meetings shall be held at <br />least once a month with date and time determined by the Commission. <br />Special meetings may be called by the Chairman. <br /> <br />Subdivision 9. EX-OFFICIO MEMBERS: The mayor may appoint a <br />Council member or a City staff person as an ex-officio member <br />of the Commission privileged to speak on any matter without a <br />vote, and the ex-officio member shall provide a liaison between <br />the Commission and the City Council. <br /> <br />Adopted this 14th day of June 1976. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~YOR <br /> <br /> <br />
