Case #4 <br /> <br />Request to Rezone Certain Property from R-2 Medium Density Residential <br />to B-2 Business; Case of Scott Hagen <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Geisler noted this is a request for rezoning that follows the Comprehensive <br />Plan amendment. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt opened the public hearing at 7:47 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Jeffrey to close the public hearing at <br />7:47 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Jeffrey, Van Scoy, Brauer, <br />Jeffrey, Shepherd and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson. <br /> <br />Commission Input <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Jeffrey to recommend that City Council <br />adopt Findings of Fact relating to a request from Scott Hagen to rezone the subject property from <br />R-2 Residential to B-2 Business. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Jeffrey, Brauer, Shepherd, Van <br />Scoy, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Jeffrey to recommend that the City <br />Council approve the request to rezone the subject property, based on the Findings of Fact. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Jeffrey, Brauer, Shepherd, Van <br />Scoy, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Johnson. <br /> <br />Case #5 <br /> <br />Request for a Home Occupation Permit; Case of Jim Kreuser <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald advised that Jim Kreuser resides at 17731 Eaton Street and has been <br />operating a custom cabinet business within an accessory structure located on his property for the <br />past 17 years. She indicated the business is considered illegal non-conforming and therefore Mr. <br />Kreuser submitted a home occupation permit application to bring his business, Kreuser Cabinets, <br />into compliance. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated the newly adopted Home Occupation Ordinance states that a <br />person can apply for a permit from the City to operate a business within an accessory structure if <br /> <br />Planning Commission/February 5, 2004 <br /> Page 4 of 18 <br /> <br /> <br />
