Electrical Vehicle Charging Station Installed in Ramsey Municipal Parking Ramp The City of Ramsey is excited to announce the installation of its first Electrical Vehicle (EV) Charg- ing Station, located in the Ramsey Municipal park- ing ramp at 7650 Sunwood Drive NW. With grant funding from the Twin Cities Clean Cities Coalition (TC4) and the National Park Service (NPS), this EV charging station is one of 12 stations to be installed along the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) corridor. This project will support the goals of the MNRRA's Alternative Transportation Plan to increase multimodal access to the regional park and to protect park resources. With the addition of this EV charging station, the City of Ramsey aims to integrate and enhance sustain- able opportunities for transportation and recreation, not only along the Mississippi River, but also through- out the City. In immediate proximity of the charging station, visitors can explore restaurants and retailers, enjoy the summer concerts, farmers market, and other park activities, or access over 50 miles of local trails with the free -to -use Trek bikes that Ramsey has to offer. The EV charging station can be found on the first floor of the Ramsey Municipal parking ramp near the south stairwell, and will cost users $1.00 per hour to charge. Citizens interested in utilizing the charging sta- tion will need to set up an account with ChargePoint, by visiting their website at wwwchargepoint.com /join. After registering, members will receive a Charge- Point card which they must activate in order to access the charging station. Each time a custom- er pays to use a station, the station fees will be deducted from their ChargePoint account balance. When their account runs low, ChargePoint will automatically charge their credit card $25, or the amount equivalent to three month's average use, so the account always maintains a balance. ChargePoint members can also download the mobile app, which will allow them to get real - time updates about their charg- ing status, as well as locate other charging stations, their prices and availability.
