Foster are requesting tonight <br />is that Council discuss the concept of the PUD. The concept approval doesn't <br />mean anything firm. The developers will receive Council direction after the <br />public hearings. <br /> <br />Mr. Lichter stated that he is disappointed that Council is even considerihg <br />this development. He stated that he doesn't care what stage it's in -- <br />concept, sketch or final -- the whole idea is pig manure. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested that Mr. Lichter and Mr. Data attend the Planning and <br />Zoning public hearing with their specific recommendations and alternatives. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that according to ordinance, Council must conduct <br />a public hearing, either jointly with P & Z or in addition to P & Z's hearing. <br /> <br />It was noted that P & Z is conducting their public hearing on November 29, <br />1983. <br /> <br />Diane Hendrickson - 5460 140th Lane - Concerned that her property will be <br />surrounded by multiple dwellings and commercial. <br /> <br />Ralph Hendrickson - 5460 140th Lane - Stated that he has a 1 acre lot and <br />looking at the plans it seems feasible that he will have as many as 160 people <br />residing adjacent to his property. Mr. Hendrickson further stated that when <br />he bought his property he was informed by the City Engineer that this area <br />was planned for 1 acre lot development. Mr. Hendrickson stated that he is not <br />in favor of quads and 8-plexes buffering the residential area; he would prefer <br />it to be singles and duplexes. <br /> <br />Mr. Carson replied that a high density in the area is necessary to pay for the <br />cost of the public utilities; a buffer to the residential area is definitely <br />needed; possibly some type of fencing could be utilized. <br /> <br />Council consensus is that the potential traffic ~ problems with this PUD must <br />be addressed. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular Council meeting back to order at 10:04 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #6: City's Liability Insurance Coverage: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by CouncilmeJnber Reimann to <br />approve of the $3,000,000.00 umbrella policy at a cost of $1650.00 as submitted <br />by T.C. Field & Company, the City's insurance agent. Further, that T.C. Field <br />& Company be furnished a certified excerpt copy of the Council meeting minutes <br />pertaining to this motion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ga/nec, Councilmembers Schlueter, Reimann <br />and Van Wagner. Voting No: None.
