I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OFT HE <br />PERSONNEL COmmITTEE <br />CITY OF RAP~EY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A Personnel Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, September 21, 1983 <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota <br />55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: Councilman A1 Sorteberg <br /> Councilman Gary Reimann <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />Building Official Clayton Berg <br />Chief of Police Mike Auspos <br />Public Works Superintendent Merle Mevissen <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:45 p.m. <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee has asked that the City Administrator put a letter <br />in each employee's file that was interviewed, stating that they have met <br />with the Personnel Committee on an individual basis. They wish to note <br />that Michael Stenquist did not meet with the Personnel Committee, as he <br />was satisfied with his working relationship with the City. <br /> <br />Case %3: Proposed Salary Increases for Part-time Personnel: <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle noted that Bruce Bacon, the City's tree and <br />weed inspector, has done an outstanding job for the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg to <br />recommend that Council approve of the part-time employee salary increases <br />as shown in enclosure (3) which is attached as part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Councilmembers Reimann and Sorteberg. Voting <br />no: None. <br /> <br />Case %4: Health Insurance: <br /> <br />Building Official Berg informed the Personnel Committee that a 15% to 20% <br />increase is anticipated for health insurance. This would amount to <br />approximately $35 on the average premium. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann recommends a $15 increase. <br /> <br />Councilman Sorteberg stated that if we only increase i't $15, we would be <br />running behind. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann stated that he thinks it would be fair if the City payed <br />half of the increase, and the employee picked up the other half. Otherwise, <br />where will it stop? <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann and seconded by Councilman Sorteberg that <br />a $15 increase to the health insurance premium be recommended to Council. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
