The policy shall enumerate the types of financial tools <br />the City of Ramsey will consider using, including such tools as Tax Increment <br />Financing, Industrial Revenue and Development Bonds, etc. It may also designate <br />specific areas which would be eligible for such tools as Tax Increment <br />Financing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, C~n~ssioners Cox, Guy, <br />Miller, Schmidt, Muller and Fults. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners <br />Sentyrz and Schneider. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schm~dt inquired as to the status of hiring a part time planner <br />in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle replied that Council acted at their special meeting of September <br />13, 1983 to proceed. The paperwork will be sut~nitted to the County, applicants <br />interviewed and Council will make a decision. <br /> <br />Case #2; Recommendation For A~licants To Fill Vacanc~ On The Economic <br /> Development Commission: <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Fults and seconded by Commissioner Muller to appoint <br />Mr. Bernard Vevea to the Economic Development Co. mLission to serve out the <br />unexpired term of Mr. Jack Menkveld, with an expiration date of January 31, <br />1984. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Co.,~issioners Cox, Guy, <br />Miller, Schmidt, Muller and Fults. Voting No: None. Absent: Co~m~issioners <br />Sentyrz and Schneider. <br /> <br />Case ~3: Subcon~nittee Reports: <br /> <br />a) Legislative Subcommittee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Muller stated that he/and commissioners Cox and Guy will be <br />attending the annual IBAM meeting, commissioner Muller further commented <br />that Mr. Vevea has expressed an interest in also attending this meeting. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />b) Economic Subcommittee - <br /> <br /> Commissioner Fults stated that Commissioner Schneider is still working on <br /> the Ramsey Pamphlet. <br /> <br />c) Finance Subcommittee - <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Commissioner Schmidt had no report at this time. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schmidt inquired with regards to the Minnesota Emergency <br />Employment Act, if those dollars were granted directly to Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle replied that the money has been granted to the County. <br />He noted that there were Federal dollars available earlier in the year <br />but those dollars were put towards the methane gas project. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schmidt stated that he thinks Anoka is using Federal dollars <br />to hire two full time highly professional people to formulate and apply <br />for a Star City status for Anoka. <br /> <br />EDC/September 14, 1983 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
