Abstain: Councilmember Van Wagner. <br /> <br />Roger Buchanan suggested the newsletter be funded by the City and edited by <br />private citizens. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that the tax on City Staff caused by newsletter <br />is unwarranted. The intent was to provide a newsletter without any cost <br />and time on the part of City Staff. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner stated that she is resigning as editor of Ramsey <br />Resident. She commented that there are some citizens who have volunteered <br />to work on the newsletter and solicit advertising. <br /> <br />Councilmember Reimann stated that a group of citizens should be able to <br />put this newsletter together and make it a viable business. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg suggested Councilmember Schlueter continue to work <br />with Ad Hoc Committee to search out an agreeable solution or alternative. <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the situation now is that Ramsey has a <br />newsletter and no editor. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner stated that Council would like to see more of a <br />guarantee that newsletter is not going to cost the taxpayers and she can't <br />guarantee that and she will not go out on a limb for the newsletter. <br /> <br />Dick Sieber - suggested a poll be taken in the next issue regarding whether <br />or not citizens are willing to pay a subscription. If Council cannot <br />find citizens and funding for the newsletter, drop it. <br /> <br />COUNCIL NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #15: Approval Of Bills For The Month Of April: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Sorteberg to <br />adopt Resolution #83-70 approving the payment of bills for the month of <br />April 1983 in the amount of $122,944.08. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #16: Licenses For Approval: <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to <br />approve the following license applications for Contractors: <br /> <br />#83-44 C <br /> <br />#83-45 C <br /> <br />J.A.
