I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Con~nissioner Sieber inquired as to what adjustments would have to be made to <br />County Road #116 and what process would be involved and who pays for it? <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka replied that it would have to be moved towards Tom <br />Thumb and this would require authorization from the County. Portions of the <br />funding would come from Federal and State grant programs and a portion would <br />be the City's expense. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber referred to necessary land acquisition and inquired if <br />development of the airport would disturb any long range development plans <br />of those property owners and will land acquisition create hard feelings? <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka replied that there are 1 or 2 lots in Riverside West <br />that might be affected and the property owners that are aware of this proposed <br />project have not voiced any real objections and vacant lots in the area <br />would have to be declared unbuildable. <br /> <br />m <br />m <br />m <br />I <br />m <br />m <br />m <br />m <br /> <br />Mr. Koshak stated that there is a program set down by Federal Government for <br />acquiring properties and it would be accomplished in the highest of standards. <br /> <br />Commissioner Donovan inquired as to v~nat would happen to McGregor)s. <br /> <br />Mr. Koshak replied that he is not that well informed on what the State would <br />require but indications are that there would have to be a program for <br />eventually acquiring the property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Greenberg stated that he has discussed the matter with McGregor's <br />and they are agreeable to a buy-out. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber inquired as to the size of aircraft that will be utilizing <br />Gateway North. <br /> <br />Commissioner Siebert replied that the largest aircraft using the facility <br />would probably a twin-engine Otter type aircraft. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber inquired as to what approvals will be necessary for this <br />project. <br /> <br />Mr. Koshak replied that MnDoT would be the primary agency and information will <br />be made available to other interested agencies, County and neighboring <br />communities. <br /> <br />Commissioner Donovan inquired if expansion of the airport would create greater <br />use of it. <br /> <br />Commissioner Patz' o~inion is that expansion would create greater use. <br /> <br />m <br />m <br />m <br />m <br /> <br />Commissioner Sieber stated that he would have to see in black and white where <br />Ramsey is justified in spending money on the airport -- will the City get a <br />return on it's investment? <br /> <br />Commissioner Moen stated that she would like to see a map that would more <br />clearly define the various zones and provide a better ideal of just how much <br />area will be affected. <br /> <br />The Commission directed the City Engineer to prepare a map of the various <br />zones and present it to the Commission for their review at their next regular <br />meeting. <br /> <br />AP/September 21, 1983 <br /> <br /> <br />
