I I The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to inform vendors of information processing software and hardware that the City of Rarnsey, Minnesota, is seeking proposals outlining the vendor's capabilities in meeting the requirements specified below. Il. Surm~a~ of System Requiremants The City of Ramsey intends to install an integrated data base management and word processing system. It must provide rnulti-terminal access to an integrated, inter- department data base. The data base software must be an applications generator, allowing complete end- user modification and design. The vendor must provide initial customization of the software to Rarnsey's specifications. The cost, if any, of this customization must be estimated by the vendor and clearly identified in the proposal. General applications software requirements include: I. municipal finance and accounting 2. parcel-based planning and forecasting for administration, building inspections, assessment and public works; 3. inventory and maintenance of infrastructure and equipment /t. police files 5. sophisticated multi-file analysis and graphing 6. word processing, integrated with data base Other system requirements include: !. system hardware and peripherals 2. training 3. service and rminlenance I I I. Acquisition Process In order for Ramsey to become adequately familiar with the system and to enter bath current and historical data over a period of time, the City will stage the installation of the computer system. The City will sign a contract with the selected vendor after the system details are finalized, in order to fix hardware and software costs.
