' BuSin~.~s Liaisons- <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley suggested that a more effective liaison team would consist of 2-3 <br />members that could work with a certain degree of confidentiality with the <br />prospective incoming business. <br /> <br />Mr. Alsdurf stated that the t~o-menber team would have to be very knowledgeable <br />as to what types of business Ramsey wants, financing methods, utilities <br />available, zoning, etc. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that tonight's joint council/staff/commission workshop <br />should reveal what kind of community is desired. <br /> <br />Consensus was that for now, all incoming business leads should be referred to <br />Ms. Norris and she will send that lead a letter welcoming them to consider <br />Ramsey as a location for their business. That letter should be followed up by <br />a phone call. <br /> <br />Mr. Alsdurf inquired as to why local business owners were not invited to the <br />joint meeting as they are affected by the goals and priorities of the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated it was an oversight; that those business owners involved <br />with this Economic Development Compar[f should have been invited. Mr. Hartley <br />stated that the goal setting meetings will be an on-going process in Ramsey. <br /> <br />~ Disc{_~ssion R~qardin~ Zoninq.~geaulak{ops <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that the entrance to Ramsey on Hwy. 910, enforcement of <br />ordinances and regulations and the enforcement of the junk ordinance are issues <br />raised throughout the 'needs' list to be discussed at tonight's joint meeting. <br /> <br />Consensus was to table any further discussion on ordinance enforcement and city <br />image until after it is known what priority these issues rate at the joint <br />meeting of March 6 and how they are dealt with in the next 6 months. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin inquired if the Company should pursue compiling packets for <br />distribution to prospective incoming business; one dealing with city <br />ordinances, time tables, zoning, etc. and the other dealing with what <br />business and residential activities are going on in the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that videos are becoming a very popular tool for selling <br />conununities. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin stated that the Economic Develolament Commission is supposed to be <br />working on a video. Mr. Hardin asked Mr. DeLuca and Mr. Alsdurf to research <br />ways of compiling such a packet and what should be included in the packet. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that there is a bill in the Senate right now dealing with <br />port authorities. If the bill is passed, Ramsey would be eligible to establish <br /> March 6, 1986 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
