b) Promotional - <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated that in order to make the Company work, all members of it <br />have to get involved rather than just the Promotional Subcommittee. Mr. Wagner <br />proposed the following committees be established: <br /> <br />Stock Sales - This committee would put together a marketing and <br />selling program and would consist of all the Board of Directors <br />and any other interested shareholders. <br /> <br />2. Liaison - This would be a pool of people available to talk to <br /> prospective businesses seeking a suitable location <br /> <br />3. Promotional Materials - This group would be responsible for brochures, <br /> flyers, video presentations, etc. <br /> <br />New Articles - Person or persons responsible for getting positive <br />news about Ramsey printed in the City Newsletter, ABC Papers and <br />Minneapolis Tribune. <br /> <br />Mr. DeLuca suggested that a Company booster club be established as a way to get <br />the average residents of the city involved. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding ways to get a better response to Company stock sales. <br /> <br />Mr. Fults stated the following as hindrances with respect to bringing in new <br />businesses to the community: <br /> <br />1. Gray areas with respect to municipal services being available and <br /> when. <br /> <br />2. Landowners holding onto their land until it is improved with sewer <br /> and water to increase their profit gained. <br /> <br />3. Tax'structure that allows taxing~e~tities~ to make more money on <br /> vacant land than on developed land. <br /> <br />Mr. Fults stated that the City needs an inventory of local businesses, their <br />plans and needs as far as expansion or relocating, lots of record~ ready for <br />development and rental space available. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin directed that a list of all Ramsey business owners, councilmembers <br />and commission members that have not as yet purchased Company stock be compiled <br />and the names will be divided equally among all members of the Company to <br />personally contact. <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin suggested that the liaison group be made up of members from City <br />Staff, City Council, Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Economic <br />Development Company. Mr. Hardin directed that a letter be drafted to these <br />entities asking for their participation in the Company's liaison group. <br /> <br />The suggestion for a computer listing of properties, rental space and local <br />business plans was placed on the next regular agenda for further discussion. <br /> <br />April 3, 1986 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
