Council and City commission members and City staff that have not yet
purchased Company stock and divide that list among Company members to
use in their stock selling efforts. Mr. Alsdurf stated he is willing
to offer the services of his printing firm to mail letters regarding
stock sales to those businesses that have not responded to stock sales
yet; also suggested another article be printed in the Ramsey Resident
Newsletter. Mr. Mardin volunteered to draft the letter. Mr. DeLuca
suggested that a booster club be organized to get the private sector
involved in the Company. Consensus was that the meeting of the stock
sales committee should also discuss beginning to reach the private
sector through local organizations and clubs.

2) Business Liaison - Mr. Hardin stated that persons have volunteered
to meet with businesses considering locating in Ramsey. ·

3) Promotional Materials - Refer to Case #4 of these minutes.

4) News articles - During Item (1) of this case it was suggested that
another article regarding the Company be published in the newsletter.

Case #4: Status Of Business Packet:

Mr. Alsdurf brought in samples of packets he requested from other communities;
noted he was very impressed with the follow up calls he received after
requesting these packets. If Ramsey puts out a business packet, a marketing
strategy should be devised to follow up requests for packets.

Mr. DeLuca suggested that a packet should contain the most amount of
information in the simplest form.

Mr. Kurak requested that Mr. Alsdurf attend the next Economic Development
Commission meeting to discuss a city video/packet; there may be CDBG funds
available for this project.

Mr. Hardin requested that Mr. Pauley work with Mr. Alsdurf and Mr. DeLuca on
gathering information to be contained in the packet~

Case #2: Discussion Re~arding Inventory Of Businesses. Commercial/
Industrial Properties. etc.:

Mr. Hardin suggested that this task be turned over to Mr. Darryl Fults.

Discussion ensued regarding whether or not area businesses would be receptive
to a survey seeking information regarding their businesses and their needs.

Mr. Hardin stated that he would draft a survey form and cover letter to be
reviewed and discussed at the next Company meeting.

Mr. DeLuca noted that the information gathered by the survey will be useless
unless it is updated periodically.

Case #3: Status Of Mississippi River And Rum River Crossings:

May 8, 1986
