This morning,
the Task Force is receiving a report completed by its technical
subcommittee which reviewed, analyzed and ranked eight additional
crossing sites between Interstate 694 and State Highway 101. The
study determined that there were several segments within this
area and established various priorities for each segment.

The first priority segment is that area between Hennepin County
Road 121 - Armstrong Boulevard N.W. to Noble Avenue - Crooked
Lake Boulevard (Ferry Street is between these). The study
recommended that short ramge (the next 10 years) actions include
the repair and improvement of the Ferry Street bridge,
improvements to intersections on Ferry Street, and the completion
of a detailed environmental impact analysis of river crossing
alternatives in this corridor. This analysis would determine
which crossing is the most feasible. Recommended long term
(beyond 1997) action includes the completion of another bridge
crossing within this corridor.
