1) guaranteeing a minimum building value; 2) pursuing legislation <br />regarding compensating businesses situated in the landfill buffer area; 3) <br />using tax increment financing for site improvements to reduce the property <br />owners investment cost. <br /> <br />Mr. Greenberg stated that the County and State are making the landfilling <br />decisions and should assume some of the liability. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that unless it is legislated, she doesn't expect the <br />State and County to accept liability; she will discuss the issue with the <br />County. <br /> <br />B. promotional Subcommittee- <br /> <br />i. Stock Sales <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner requested that Company members contact businesses that have <br />not responded to the Company's letter regarding stock sales. <br /> <br />ii. Business Liaison - Business Appreciation Day <br /> <br />Consensus was that this item will be discussed as Case #6 of this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />iii. Promotional Materials <br /> <br />Mr. Alsdurf presented a sample pocket folder of what he believes <br />accomplishes the Company's intent for an information packet cover to <br />communicate, i.e., cooperation between city and industry, open space <br />available for development, existing residential and industrial <br />development; packet cover thee is 'building for tcmorr~'. Mr. <br />Alsdurf suggested that the inside of the packet cover be printed with a <br />map of Ramsey and the backside of the packet folder be printed with a <br />smaller map showing Ramsey's geographic location in relationship to the <br />Metro area. Mr. Alsdurf stated that his firm would donate the artwork <br />and the approximate cost would be $1600-$1700 for 2500 packet folders. <br />Mr. Alsdurf will have a firm price available for the Board's <br />information at the next Company meeting. <br /> <br />iv. News Articles <br /> <br />It was suggested that an article regarding the Company's revolving loan <br />fund be published in the Ramsey Resident newsletter. <br /> <br />Case #2: Discussion Regarding Annual Company Meetinq: <br /> <br />Mr. Hardin stated that Company by-laws require that the annual meeting be <br />conducted on the second Wednesday in January of each year and that meeting <br />notices be issued 10 days prior to the meeting; the Company is unable to <br />meet that timetable. <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. Wagner and seconded by Mr. Greenberg to amend the Company by- <br />laws to require that the annual Company meeting be conducted the fourth <br />Economic Develo~ment Company/i-8-87 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
