Mayor Gamec then read aloud a petition, presented by Carol Sather and signed
by Ramsey youth and citizens, regarding the need for a drinking fountain in
the warming house located at Ramsey Elementary School.

Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to accept the
petition regarding a drinking fountain at the Ramsey warming house.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Schlueter
and Van Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Reimann.

Carol Sather - Indicated that the warming house is utilized by as many as 200
people at one time and that she very often hears children comment on how they
sure wish they could have a drink of water. Carol Sather stated that she
initiated the petition and now we will see how local government works.

Michael Auspos, Jr. - Stated that there is a need for a drinking fountain at
the warming house. He commeted that recreational skaters and hockey players
get thirsty and have to eat snow.

Bryce Thunell - Stated that he wants a drinking fountain at the warming house
for the same reasons as stated by Michael Auspos, Jr. He stated that he
doesn't think the children would abuse the fountain and the City could have
somebody watch over the drinking fountain.

Chris Weiss - Stated that the City should have a drinking fountain at the
warming house and not a water jug. He further commented that when skaters
get hurt and thirsty, they need a drink of water and right now they have to
eat snow.

Mayor Gamec then read a letter aloud that he received from Nichole Anderson
who could not be present at tonight's meeting. The letter affirmed that
there is a need for a drinki.ng fountain at the warming house because skaters
get hot and sweaty and they need a drink of water. She also stated ~n her
letter that if a drinking fountain costs too much, the City does not have to
install one.

The children present at the meeting stated they would help with the drinking
fountain if the City purchased the materials.

Mayor Gamec stated that there is a power cable running underground in the
vicinity of the warming house and there might be a problem bringing in a
water line to the warming house, but the City will review the matter this
Spring.

Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner
to direct Merle Mevissen to review costs and necessary procedures involved
in providing a drinking fountain at the Ramsey warming house and report
back to Council.

Motion carried.
