McGinley, Vice PResident, Dougherty, Dawkins, Strand and Yost - <br />Stated that he represents Prestressed Concrete and introduced the PResident <br />and Vice President of Prestressed. He stated that Prestressed corporate <br />plans call for $980,000 expansion of the plant which will involve creating <br />some 10 new jobs over the next year. He further stated that the issue would <br />be that of special obligation and in no way affects Ramsey's borrowing power. <br />The loan can only be repaid by the corporation that is borrowing it. Ramsey <br />would be complying with Federal law by including it's name on the bonds. <br />Industrial revenue bonds to stimulate the economy and create jobs within <br />the city in which they are used. This process allows the city to pick and <br />choose corporations they would like to see utilize these tax exempt funds. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that there have been some inquiries as to what Prestressed <br />is doing with the waste cement and requested that Prestressed have an ex- <br />planation ready at the next regular Council meeting scheduled for April 26, <br />1983. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to <br />adopt Resolution #83-50 Setting a public hearing date on the Issuance of <br />an Industrial REvenue Bond for Prestressed Concrete, Inc. (Please refer <br />to resolution file for Resolution #83-50) <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, <br />Schlueter and Van Wagner.
