Mayor Gamec suggested taking up the subject case at this time. <br /> <br />COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #9f: Reconsideration To Ex~and Street Improvement Project (Bituminous <br /> Sur~gcing) #83-15: <br /> <br />Mr. Reed stated the Faith Baptist Church is subject to corporate action and <br />is opposed to the proposed blacktopping. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that Mr. Haugtvedt is requesting the blacktop <br />be extended one more lot to the north and Mr. Haugtvedt has been contending <br />with the dust created by church traffic for many years. <br /> <br />Mr. Haug%vedt stated that he lives to the east of the church and the dust <br />usually blows towards his property and as long as the blacktop is being <br />brought so close to his property he would like his property to be included <br />in the pro~ect. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Schlueter to <br />adopt Resolution #83-113 amending Council Resolution #83-110 to add <br />Mr. Haugtvedt's residence and the Faith Baptist Church property to Street <br />Improvement Project #83-15. (Please refer to resolution file for Res. ~83-113). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann <br />and Schlueter0 Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Van Wagner. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 9:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular Council meeting back to order at 9:50 p.m. <br /> <br />COUNCIL OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #9d: Feasibility Re~ort On Drainage Problems Involving 180th Avenue NW, <br /> Erkium Street NW and Ford Brook Estates: <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated that he has talked with a contractor that <br />estimated he could provide a drainage ditch towards the ~creek for~iless <br />than $1200 and this should keep the water table down 1 or 2 feet. Mr. <br />Raatikka also recommended that Burns Township share in the cost. Mr. <br />Raatikka stated that if the City assesses the cost out, it will have to <br />be to the entire benefitted area and a public hearing would be required. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that assessing the cost out would end up costing the <br />City more than if the City just pick up the cost. <br /> <br />Jim Martin - Stated that Burns Township is a major contributor to the problem, <br />that he has contacted Burns and they passed the responsibility on to Ramsey. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka estimated that Burns Township is contributing 24% to the drainage <br />problem. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would contact Burns, that they have been very <br />cooperative with Ramsey in the past, especially with regards to the senior <br />citizen center. <br /> <br />C/June 28, 1983 <br />Page 9 of 20 <br /> <br /> <br />
