Absent: Councilmember Cox. <br /> <br />Case #26: Report From City Attorney: <br /> <br />a) Gallagher vs. City of Ramsey- <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich reported that the Anoka County Courts dismissed Ms. <br />Gallagher's civil rights lawsuit against the City. <br /> <br />b) RamseyEconomicDevelo?ment Company - <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich reported that the Economic DeveloPment Company is having <br />internal problems an~ngst the shareholders which has turned the Company <br />into two factions. Mr. Goodrich stated that the City provides the Company <br />with support from City Staff; noted that resolving Company issues could <br />involve a good deal of Staff time and requested Council direction. <br /> <br />Council requested that City Staff schedule a meeting between City Council <br />and the Economic DeveloPment Company to discuss problem areas; in the <br />interim, the City will provide the Company with Staff services. <br /> <br />Case #27: Discussion Regarding Letter From RamseyAction Committee: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley noted a letter from the Ramsey Action Committee in which they <br />request that the special issue of the Ramsey Resident Newsletter regarding <br />the special election on April 19 include the proponent and opponent <br />arguments regarding the airport zoning ordinance. Mr. Hartley stated that <br />the request of the ActionCommittee conflicts with theeditorial policy of <br />the Newsletter. Mr. Hartley stated that he plans for the special issue of <br />the Newsletter to provide a way for interestedpersons to hear both sides <br />of the argument. If Council chooses to publish the proponent and opponent <br />arguments, it should be via some publication other than the Ramsey <br />Resident. <br /> <br />City Staff was directed to inform the Ramsey Action Committee that Council <br />has determined that the special issue of the Ramsey Resident will not <br />include proponent and opponent arguments but will provide a way for <br />interested persons to find out those arguments. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> City Council/March 22, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 16 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
