5 Hinutes CASE #8: <br /> <br /> ELECTED OFFICIALS' SALAI~IES <br />By: Dave Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At your last regular Council meeting, members of the City Council expressed <br />displeasure in the lack of a timely review of the elected officials' salaries <br />by the City Administrator and the lack of completeness of information provided <br />to the City Council regarding this subject. <br /> <br />If the City Council wishes to consider a change in Council salaries, an <br />ordinance may be adopted at any time, but the effective date of the ordinance <br />must follow a municipal election. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a copy of a survey conducted by the Association of Metropolitan <br />Municipalities dated June 20, 1986 of elected officials' salaries in the <br />Metropolitan Area and a sample ordinance for your information. <br /> <br />Recommendation= <br /> <br />Council action will be to discuss this matter. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Other <br /> <br /> <br />
