10 Minutes CASE #15: <br /> <br /> INDUSTRIAL UTILITY PROJECT <br />By: Dave Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On September 9, 1986, bids were received for sewer and water improvements to <br />the Industrial Area of Ramsey which exceeded estimates by $333,157.50, or 39%. <br />The City Charter requires that if bids exceed estimates by 10%, then the <br />project may not proceed. Furthermore, with costs so far outside of estimates, <br />it would not be the recommendation of the City Engineer or myself to proceed <br />with the project regardless of City Charter provisions. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information are proposed resolutions. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />It is the recommendation of the City Engineer, City Attorney and myself that <br />the City Council consider rejecting all bids received and commence the <br />proceedings for a new project which will be designed to cut costs, yet <br />provide approximately the same level of service which was proposed to be <br />provided in the aforementioned project.
