10 Minutes CASE #16: AIRPORT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT By: Dave Hartley, City Administrator Background: At their regular meeting in September, the Airport Commission reviewed contracts with Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc. and recommended approval based on my review. The environmental assessment, relocation plan and some limited preliminary engineering work must be completed as part of Phase I prior to the submittal of a preapplication for granf assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration. We expect to submit the preapplication for grant assistance to the Federal Aviation Administrator sometime in late 1987. If successful, the City of Ramsey may be in line for funding of property relocation expenses during the Federal Government Fiscal Year of '87-'88. Enclosed for your information is the proposed agreement for engineering services between the City of Ramsey and Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc. regarding the airport. Recommendation: It is the recommendation of the Airport Commission that the City Council proceed with efforts to investigate the feasibility of improvements to the Gateway North Industrial Airport. Further, it is the recommendation of the Airport Commission and myself that the City Council enter into an agreement with Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc. to provide specified engineering services relating to the proposed improvements to the Gateway North Industrial Airport. Council Action: Motion to: Authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to enter into an agreement with Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc. for engineering services, preparation of environmental impact assessment report, preparation of a preapplication and preparation of a land acquisition program.
