Even though it appears that the parcel's current designation is a technical error, it was <br />shown as Medium Density Residential in the 2001 Comprehensive Plan adopted by the Council. <br />Because of this, the applicant must apply for a Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezoning. <br />Staff and the Planning Commission recommend approval of the Comprehensive Plan <br />Amendment and to waive the application fee. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig inquired if staff is aware of any other properties in this condition. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik replied there are not any other properties that have <br />been brought to staff's attention. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Resolution #04- <br />02-042 identifying findings, approving a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change a land use <br />designation fi'om Medium Density Residential to places to shop, and authorize City staff to <br />submit an application to the Metropolitan Council for an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Cook, Elvig, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, waive the Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment application fee. <br /> <br />Motion can'ied. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Introduce Ordinance to Rezone Certain Property from R-2 Medium Density <br />Residential to B-2 Business; Case of Scott Hagen <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik explained Scott Hagen, owner of Hi-Ten Sports, has <br />requested that the City rezone his property south of Highway 10, west of Llama Street, from R-2 <br />Medium Density Residential to B-2 Business. She noted this item was discussed in the previous <br />Case. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #04- <br />02-043 adopting Findings of Fact #0661 relating to a request to rezone certain property from R-2 <br />Medium Density Residential to B-2 Business. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Kurak, Elvig, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman.
