Absent: Councilmember <br />Reimann. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request By Mr. Vernon Brand To Subdivide A 2-1/2 Acre Parcel <br /> Of Land Fr~m A 20 Acre Parcel Of Land: <br /> <br />7he Brand family was present. <br /> <br />Council discussed the fact that the Brand's want to give their son a 2-1/2 <br />acre parcel of land from their 20 acre parcel which is located in the rural <br />service area; that the Brand's require a variance to the 10 acre minimum <br />requirement in the Cemprehensive Plan and that the Brand's would like to <br />subdivide by metes and bounds rather than by platting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner stated that she feels a parent should be able to <br />give land to a child without going through so much hassle. <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg stated that he doesn't feel platting is necessary <br />in this case. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated that she has no objection to the Brands <br />proceeding to subdivide by metes and bounds and that she will consider the <br />request favorably. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec advised the Brand's to proceed with a formal request for a <br />metes and bounds subdivision; that they now have a favorable consensus of <br /> <br />Page 12 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
