Case <br /> <br />UPDATE ON RECYCLING CONTAINER PURCHASE <br /> By: Sandra Ashley Helling, Finance Officer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the Finance Committee meeting of January 26, 1993, Staff was authorized to purchase up to 1,000 <br />curbside recycling containers at or below $5.01 each plus sales tax, and the Committee further directed <br />Staff to check into the cost of recycling containers on wheels, different size containers, etc. for a future <br />discussion on the City's curbside recycling program. <br /> <br />The City did receive a bid of $4.10 each for containers that meet our specifications from A-I Piper <br />Recycling out of Orlando; this price is F.O.B. our public works garage. This bid is $910, or 18%, under <br />the authorized purchase amount and a purchase order has been issued to A-1 Piper. <br /> <br />Our Project Manager will be obtaining prices for recycling containers in different sizes and configurmious <br />to facilitate a future discussion on possible options our program could include.
