Cmmcilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION g93-05- RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURE FOR CITY ENTRANCE SIGN WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey Economic Development Commission has had as a goal, the placement of new City signage at major highway entrances to the City; and WHEREAS, The Links at Northfork has offered to cause to be built such a sign at the intersection of T.H. #10 and 153rd Avenue N.W. approximately 700 feet east of the Ramsey border with Elk River, and and WHEREAS, this sign will replace an existing Ramsey entry sign beyond its useful life; WHEREAS, The Links at Northfork has offered to underwrite the cost of the sign to limit Ramsey's cost to no more than the lesser of $3,000 or 30% of the sign in consideration for a Northfork Links sign face on the westbound face; and WHEREAS, the placement of the sign will cause the removal of an existing double- sided Links at Northfork sign; and WHEREAS, The Links at Northfork agrees to light both sign faces and provide perpetual maintenance of the sign and surrounding grounds; and 'WHEREAS, the Northfork sign face is intended to direct Metropolitan traffic to the Championship Links Course projected at 37,000 rounds of golf in the year 1993, malting The Links at Northfork a unique recreational attraction for the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, The Links at Northfork is located 700 feet off T.H. #10 but with obstructed and restricted views from T.H. #10 and this sign will increase the visibility of the entrance to The Links at Northfork from T.H. #10; and WHEREAS, The Links at North.fork is ensuring that any necessary easements for the sign are granted in favor of the City; and WHEREAS, the City is retaining final design approval over both sign faces, construction design and landscaping. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City hereby dedicates a sum not to exceed $3,000 for construction of the Ramsey entrance sign at T.H. #10 and 153rd Avenue N.W. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent:
