You MI1 note that under intergovernmental revenue, the Autumn Heights District includes a $9,000 allocation toward the Central Park Trail. This is the Block Grant monies that were allocated in 1992 toward a bikeway/walkway trail within Centra/Park. Finally, it was discussed at the Goals Workshop, the Lake ItascafErmine District Trail running from the Whispering Pines in North Fork Subdivision north to the Hunter's Ridge Subdivision. While we are requesting a $120,000 allocation from the Landfill Trust Fund, it was expressed that we have some concerns regarding the amount of wetland in the area. Therefore, we're asking Council to encumber the funds, but at the same time the intent is to conduct the brush clearing and rough grading for the trail in-house, and to approach the Council again once the rough grading and therefore the trail alignment is more refined and the cost estimates for trail completion are more specific. As you know, the costs rise with the amount of wetland that needs to be waversed and we are currently working with North Fork and the Department of Natural Resources to reduce the amount of wetland trail that needs to be constructed. Finance Committee Action: Motion to, upon the above understandings, recommend to the City Council, approval of the 1993 Parks Capital Improvement Program.
