CASE # 1993 COUNCIL ORGANIZATION By: Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator Background: Enclosed for your information are the following: a) d) e) Letter from Anoka County Union requesting they be designated as the City's official newspaper for the year 1993 Proposed resolution for 1993 Council organization A copy of a memo dated January 17, 1992 regarding precinct liaison designations and how they should be assigned. According to the Charter, Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmember Peterson and Councilmember Zimmerman can be assigned to any precinct as they are beginning a new term. Councilmember Beyer could be assigned to 3A and 3B or at large and Councilmember Hardin could be assigned to Precinct 2 or at large. The other option is that each of the Councilmembers could take one precinct and there would be no "at large". Excerpt of City Charter, Section 3.2.1. Proposed resolution designating financial institutions as official depositories of City funds for 1993. Observations: With regard to the precinct liaisons, City Charter requires that twice per year precinct liaison meetings be held. Council may wish to recommend a Charter amendment to change this requirement. If Council wishes to hold these meetings, dates should be scheduled. Council Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #93-01- for 1993 Council organization -. and - Motion to adopt Resolution #93-01-. depositories of City funds for 1993. designating financial institutions as official - and - Motion to direct the Charter Commission to review the requirement of precinct liaison meetings. - or - Motion to schedule Precinct Liaison meetings for 1993.
