Parks/Utilities Coordinator <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />This case was placed on City Council's December 22. 1992 agenda, City Council tabied a <br />portion of the case and directed Staff to invite the recipients t? January's meenng for a <br />formal presentation. Staff contacted each of the reCIpIents and It IS expected that several <br />will be able to anend. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission and City Staff request Council's prerogative with <br />regard to the three-tiered recognition program adopted in October 1992. Namely. does <br />Council prefer awardzng the volunteers certificates near the completion of the activity. or. in <br />a group fashion essentially combining the Tier I and Tier III steps of the City's recognition <br />program, <br /> <br />The following is enclosed fo:- your information: <br /> <br />1) 12/22/92 City Council Case #3: Community Service Award <br />2) Resolution #92-12-321 Adopting the Community Service Award for Volunteers. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to direct Staff. in subsequent years. to either present volunteers with a personalized <br />certificate at the time of the completed activity. <br /> <br />- or - <br /> <br />Motion to direct Staff to "group" volunteers together for Council to present them with <br />personalized certificates at the end of the year. <br /> <br />- and - <br /> <br />Read each Community Service A ward. presenting them to those in attendance. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />Parks/L: tiliries Coordinato:- <br /> <br />Ciry Adminisrraror <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br /> <br />CC: 01.'26/93 <br /> <br />14'1 <br />
