She <br />indicated this information is listed in the Ramsey Tree Book. She stated the Ramsey Tree Book <br />also states which trees are acceptable and which are preferred. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik noted Staff did receive two letters about the code, <br />recommending an incentive for preserving trees on a site. She stated Staff's response is a tree <br />preservation ordinance is already in place so that incentive is not necessary. <br /> <br />Citizen Input <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt stated it was the Tree Preservation Task Force that pointed out the landscaping <br />ordinance required gross over planting, causing Staff to relax the policy from what it formerly <br />stated. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Frolik stated two letters from developers suggested requiring <br />a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees, which Code already does. She indicated the Staff report <br />shows a factor of .8 for preferred trees and .65 for acceptable trees, however they would prefer <br />changing that to .65 and .5, respectively. <br /> <br />Adjourn <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Chairperson Nixt to close the public hearing at <br />9:17 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Brauer, Jeffrey, Van <br />Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Commission Input <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Watson to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt an ordinance to amend the landscape requirements in the R-i, R-2 and R-3 <br />Residential districts, including the change to preferred and acceptable factors of .65 and .5 as <br />suggested by Staff. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Johnson, Watson, Brauer, <br />Jeffrey, and Van Scoy. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Shepherd. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
