20 yrs 2% <br />25 yrs 2% <br /> <br />EMPLOYEES shall receive a lump sum payment upon termination of <br />employment with the EMPLOYER based upon 33% of said <br />EMPLOYEE'S unused accumulated sick leave after five years of <br />continuance employment. Severance pay shall not be available in any sum <br />to an EMPLOYEE if that EMPLOYEE is discharged for just cause; <br />severance pay shall not be paid if an EMPLOYEE voluntarily terminates <br />his or her employment prior to five years of continuous employment <br />service; or the EMPLOYEE voluntarily terminates his or her employment <br />without giving the EMPLOYER fourteen days written notice. <br /> <br />Duration: 2 years <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the above listed changes to the City's labor agreement with LELS. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Cook, and Councilmembers Kurak and Pearson. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Consider 2004 Wages and Benefits for Non-Represented Employees. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed reviewed that in light of the fact that negotiations with the <br />City's labor unions have ended, staff would like to establish benefits and wages for non- <br />represented employees. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed explained staff is requesting City Council approval of the <br />following provisions for non-represented employees: <br /> <br />Wages: <br /> <br />2004-3% plus applicable step increases <br /> <br />hlsuranoe: <br /> <br />Single: $313.25 <br />Family: $598 Jan-Feb 2004 <br />Family: $563 Mar-Dec 2004 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Pearson, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the above listed wage and benefit provisions for non-represented City <br />employees. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook suggested in the future a clause be worked out that non-represented employees <br />would fall under the same benefits as the negotiated union contracts. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied staff could explore this.
