Duration: 2 years <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook inquired if steel toes are required with the boot allowance. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler responded in the negative and explained a substantial leather boot <br />is required. <br /> <br />Chairperson Cook commented the City might be able to save on workman's compensation by <br />requiring steel toes. Hopefully next time the negotiations will include standards on the boot. <br /> <br />Councihnember Pearson inquired if there are applicable step increases. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed responded in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak inquired about the insurance plan. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed explained a cafeteria plan may be included in the plan <br />somewhere down the line. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the above listed changes to the City's labor agreement with AFSCME <br />Local #2454. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Cook, and Councilmembers Kurak and Pearson. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: Consider LELS Contract Negotiations. <br /> <br />Human Resources Manager Reed reviewed that staff has met with LELS union representatives <br />regarding Council direction and LELS members voted to accept the City's most recent proposal. <br />The following changes will be made to the contract pending City Council approval: <br /> <br />Wages: <br /> <br />2004-3% plus applicable step increases <br />2005-3% plus applicable step increases <br />FTO: 2004-$190/mo, 2005-$200/mo <br />Investigator pay: 2004-$190/mo, 2005-$200/mo <br />Standby pay: 200%$65.00/hr <br /> <br />Insurance: <br /> <br />Single: $313.25 <br />Family: $598 Jan-Feb 2004 <br />Family: $563 Mar-Dec 2004 <br />2005: Reopener <br /> <br />Sick Leave/ <br /> <br />15 yrs 2% <br /> <br />Personnel Committee/March 9, 2004 <br /> Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
