At the time thc sewer and water was extended, the City <br />adopted a policy for addressing the cost that properties, such as yours, would incur when hooking <br />up to thc sewer and water. ] m'n enclosing a cop), of that policy for your review. This policy was <br />adopted because the City desired to mitigate thc financial burden over a situation that property <br />owner has no control. I4owcver, you will note that the last paragraph of the policy spccifically <br />exempts properties which arc subdivided or converted to a mom: intensive land-use. When either <br />of these instances occur, the presumption is that it is done for thc profit of the land owner. In such <br />instances th: Cis' pohcy deems it appropriate that the City recover the costs it would have nom'mlly <br />assesse_.,~. <br /> <br />Since you have indicated that you are contemplating a lot split, I have prepared the enclosed memo <br />dated May 10, 1993. 'l-ne memo documents thc amount which would have normally been <br />ass:ssed. The rationale for arriving at the fair share amount is also documented within this <br />momora.ndum. <br /> <br />In summary, each of the two units you propose to create'would be responsible for a charge of <br />$10,110, which is ~ combination of the lateral and n-unk sewer and water charges. This amount <br />would be clue at the time the lot division is released by the City to be recorcled at the Count),.
