City of Ramsey Page Seven Objective b: Provide larger bedrooms so that there is a bed for all family members and children/youth do not have to sleep in the same bed as their mothers. Objective c: Provide an appropriate sized, handicapped accessible bedroom to accommodate a woman and her children/youth. Objective d: Improve heating and cooling systems so that all of the spaces will be comfortable throughout the year. Goal 4: Reduce the incidence of domestic violence in Anoka County co.w. unities and other metropolitan areas. Objective a: Provide appropriate space for programs for children/youth who are residents. Objective b: Provide supportive children/youth programming and education to prevent them from being involved in domestic violence as adults. Objective c: Design the building so that programs for children/youth and women can be effectively coordinated. Objective d: Provide adequate space for community advocacy program staff and outreach programs in order to improve coordination among programs. Goal 5. Operate Alexandra House in a .more cost effective manner devoting more of it's staff and financial resources to the residents and community members rather than building operations and maintenance. Objective a: Increase the amount of storage space to allow for bulk purchasing which is less time consuming and expensive. Objective b: Improve the quality and durability of the structure and fixtures to reduce the time and money spent on repair of the building and appliances. Objective c: Build an energy efficient building in order to reduce operating costs.
