The City has responded to the comments you have made as follows:

1) Alternate Alignments:

Alternate 1: The City reviewed both of the alternate alignments as shown on Figure 3 of the
original EAW. The more northerly alignment along 156th Avenue N.W. would route the MSA
street down a currently developed resident/al street. This-would create an MSA collector street
with 22 private driveway accesses which may conu-ibute to additional traffic accidents as these
residents attempt to leave their homes. With the additional right-of-way, several of the existing
homes would have only one-half the required setbacks from the MSA road. At the connection
with County Road #83, the vehicles traveling west would be required to stop, then rum left
onto County Road #83 and make an additional right turn in approximately 2,200 feet. The
additional un-ns required by this alignment would lead to a possible increase in the number of
accidents as vehicles accelerate and stow for these un'ns. These acceleration and deceleration
zones would also contribute greatly to the mount of noise caused by the traffic.

Alternate 2: Consumcting the new roadway in a stra/ght east/west connection. This alignment
would generally direct traffic to 154th Lane N.W. which, similar to 156th Avenue N.W., was
consumcted as a residential street. By reconsumcting this street to MSA standards, 39 single
family homes and accesses would be directly affected. This alignment may be designed to
encourage traffic to rum left onto County Road #83 and then right onto 153rd Avenue N.W.
The distance for this m~neuver would be approximately.l,100 feet. City sradies show that a
vehicle would only attain a speed of approximately 35 m.p.h., wkich is 20 m.p.h, under the
posted speed before decelerating to turn west onto 153rd Avenue N.W. :By these additional
turns, much of the traffic would chose to continue west on 154th Lane N.W. requiring
additional m~intenance and an increased chance of acc/dents.as residents use thi~ street
.:
