There are no reported historical or archaeological properties in the project's area of potential effect. However, we believe that there is a good probabil- ity that unreported properties may be present. Therefore, we recommend that a reconnaissance level survey of the project area be completed. The survey must meet the requirements of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Iden- tification and Evaluation. It is our understanding that the project area may be surveyed by the County Municipal Highway Archaeology Survey Program as time and staffing permit. You may wish to clarify the scheduling of the survey with Randy Peterson, County Municipal Highway Archaeologist (612-725-2427). You may also wish to consider hiring an archaeological consultant to complete the survey. We will comment further on the project when the surwey report has been completed.
