Co <br /> <br />All advertising signs shall be erected with a single pole or mono-pole structural standard <br />and shall have underground wiring. <br /> <br />The base of any advertising sign must be landscaped with at least grass and must be <br />properly maintained. <br /> <br />Advertising signs shall not exceed three hundred (300) square feet in area nor twenty-five <br />(25) feet in height as measured perpendicularly from the height of the highest point of the <br />sign structure to the grade level directly below the sign. The existing grade may not be <br />altered for the purpose of increasing sign height. <br /> <br />Advertising signs shall be considered a principal use of the property. Advertising signs <br />must be removed when the parcel upon which they are situated is devoted to another <br />principal use. <br /> <br />The City shall perform a yearly inspection of the advertising devices to ensure compliance <br />of said advertising structure with the provisions of this section and other provisions of this <br />Ordinance. The fee for said inspection shall be set by the Ramsey City Council by <br />resolution. <br /> <br />Illumination, if any, shall be achieved through shielded illumination, shielded silhouette <br />lighting, or shielded spot lighting, but not any lighting where the light source is visible or <br />exposed. <br /> <br />9.12.09 INDUSTRIAL AND BUSINESS WAREHOUSE TYPE DISTRICTS <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Wall, Canopy or Marquee Sign. There shall not be more than one (t) wall sign for each <br />principal building except where the building abuts two or more streets, additional such <br />signs, one (1) oriented to each abutting street, shall be permitted. The gross surface area of <br />a wall sign shall not exceed fifteen (15) percent of the area of the building wall, including <br />doors and windows, to which the sign is to be affixed. The gross surface area of a wall <br />sign may be increased by ten (10) percent if such wall sign: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />consists only of individual, outlined alphabetic, numeric, and/or symbolic <br />characters without background except provided by the building surface to which the <br />sign is to be affixed; and <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />any illumination, if any, is achieved through shielded ilIumination, shielded <br />silhouette lighting, or shielded spot lighting but not any lighting where the light <br />source is visible or exposed on the face or sides of the characters. <br /> <br />A wail, canopy or marquee sign may be located on the outermost wail of any principal <br />building but shall not project more than sixteen (16) inches from the wall to which the sign <br />is to be affixed. A wall sign shall not project higher than the parapet line of the wall to <br />which the sign is to be affixed. Where a principal building is devoted to two (2) or more <br />permitted uses, the operator of each such use may install a wall sign upon his/her <br />proportionate share of the building wall to which the sign is to be aff'~ed.
